STOLEN - 480 engine/gearbox and suspension

While I was at work yesterday (Friday 13th) Some theiving robbing bastard stole my spare engine and two mcphearson struts.

They were too heavy for me to move to the back garden, they were at the front of the house behind a car, so i'm assuming they just reversed their truck onto my drive, loaded them up and had them away.

The engine was a good runner when removed and the gearbox was perfect. The mcphersons were the later type with the hangers for the abs sensor wire.

I'm assuming they were stolen for their scrap value but if anyone comes across them I'd appreciate any info.

Im well sorry to hear about this, robbing b*****s!! No need for that ! I cant belive someone would do that from someones own drive??!!?

I only really wanted the bearbox and the struts.
(my abs sensor wires are ziptied onto the struts at the moment
because I'm using a pair of pre sensor struts on the car.

I was going to swap the springs and put these ones back on.

I'm ever so slightly annoyed. Thieving scumbags.

pikey bar-stewards. can't imagine they'll get much considering i bought a complete engine, box & ancilliaries for not much. scrap isnt worth a lot at the moment.

keep an eye on ebay & freeads

Theft?!

Maybe phone a few metal merchants to see if they have been weighed in? If so, phone the cops and they will be able to at least get the stuff back for you. It still belongs to you. Most metal places are a bit dodge and probably a bit too efficient so it will all be cube shaped though!

Exactly! thats why I hadn't bothered to getting round to taking the
box off and popping the engine over to be made into saucepans.

Now I've lost the box and the suspension parts....

Have you informed the police? There may be some CCTV they can look at locally? Not that they'll bother, I had a CCTV camera facing directly towards the MK4 when the crims tried to steal him and lo and behold, they couldnt make anything out despite the fact that the street lamp was clearly lighting everything!
