The BIG freeze

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Volvo 480 ;)

  I do believe the news said Ireland was worst hit, with -11 in some places (although the news reader then contradicted herself by talking to some "hardy scots" who said it was currently -12!!!)

My infocentre is a little iffy at the moment (it needs resoldering) but I found on two occasions the red warning light went off when the temp went below about -6c. Is that normal?

I've seen -8 today. The predictions for this region are -15 for this night. Maybe I can take a picture tomorrow morning.

It is normal that the red light goes off when the temp drops below -5.

This is normal. Volvo thought that it becomes irritating for the driver that the warning light is on all the time at temps like that. If it's that cold everybody is aware that it is freezing. The warning light is just there to keep the driver save for slippery surprises when you're not aware that it is freezing.

This night at 1 o'clock -12c here in the centre of Holland. The 480 started and drove like it was in it's natural habitat!

Here in Holland -20C was recorded in the south of Holland
Any dutch 480 owner from that area?
I live near the coast where max. temp. was -5C
Car started and drove like normal. I guess Volvos feel well at these operating temps ;-)
