windscreen wash

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

windscreen wash

Post by martinholmesuk » Sun Jan 04, 2009 10:30 am

Folks,

What windscreen wash are you using? I was using the bog standard Halfords stuff (mix your own) and it left white streaks on the window.

Using the evil of washing up liquid at the mo! Yes it's full of salt but so is the road lol.

cheers

I baught a massive bottle a couple of years ago when I was living in Devon from Mole Valley Farmers!

Sadly its almost all gone so I will have o get some more next time I am visiting the parents...but I love it cos it smells great! Maybe its so nice smelling to cheer the farmers up at stupid o'clock every morning, or to make muck spreading smell a tad nicer...hmmm I wonder! :dunno:

Screen wash

Halfords? Waste of money!!

Plenty of cheap stuff and it all does the same thing.

And you can use it as de icer. So no need to get expensive stuff to do that either!!!

@ esta dont really buzz it

As for farmers have no sympathy for them ever since I was cycling up a country lane which was below the level of the surrounding fields and the farmer spread his muck all over me and was laughing :badmood:

:kill: farmers at muck spreading

Funny that.....I remember you laughing at me when I was moaning about the white streaks that Halfords screen wash leaves.

I use this Comma Screenwash (it's apple scented as well so it doesn't smell as putrid as the cheapy ones).

I think it was £4 for a bottle about 2 years ago, and I still haven't used it up, gives a handy concentration reference to tell you what temperatures it can work in :)

Also cleans the windscreen really really well. [I got it because it won the auto-express award a couple of years ago, and whilst I was in the shop I thought what the heck :) ]

I didn't buy it from Halford btw.
