Volvo 4 series promo tape

Last week I decided to digitalise that old promo tape (for internal use), which was still lying around at my parents place. Being employees of Volvo Car in Born my father and I each got one. The title of the video is (translated) "We are building a Volvo" and shows the complete production process of the Volvo 4 series. The sound quality is not very good, it is in Dutch, but features some outstanding 80s hairdo's

It lasts 45 minutes and I uploaded the complete clip in 9 parts on YouTube.

Since I still cannot place URLs in my posts, those who are interested have to find it under my username at youtube dot com /user/tvoorter
The parts are all called "Wij bouwen een VOLVO"

Don't know if you are missing really much. The opening sentences goes like this (loosely translated):

"People do the most wonderous things for their living: one groaningly rides a bike in the Pyrenees, and the other embroiders napkins. One fillets mackerel, the other shaves german poodles. One fills up hollow teeth, the other cooks beans with bacon. One rapairs worn out soles, the other grows pansys. And we ..... we are building a Volvo."

The filmmakers must have been pretty high from all the emissions inside the factory.

I seen one on the production line getting stuck together. Love the old skool mullets with a fag on the go, brillient. Think they had a bit of the Genesis going on the radio so when you hear that you should see half a 480!

I did some 480 spotting:

PT. 4 - 0.54 min.
PT. 5 - 2.25 min.
PT. 5 - 3.43 min.

Not much ... but then: they built much more 440s.

Hey jamooga: if you see a steel grey turbo on the Haagweg or Witte Singel in Leiden driving to or from the A44, then it's me.
