Wow RARE GT!

Hey i was under the impression that the GT was only produced in FMR and Green...

and guessing by the lack of info on the car the owner may not realise this or even care...?

poor lil 480!

Im assuming tis an ES with those wheels??

PS i haven't been misinformed about the GT colours have i??? Please feel free to

me for posting this if i have but spare my 480 lol

No, that's actually a rare Scottish GT.

They only drive white 480's up there don't ya know....

Think theres a few wrong on the logbook. Bet ebay wrote that, not him.

To be fair i bet it was ebay cos its all so vague, and its the sort of style title that ebay give for these things.

As far as the logbook is concerned there are a few wrong, in a non 480 related problem, my mums XJ40 was recorded as an XJ6 Sovereign (She didn't mind, according to the paperwork it meant she had two then not just the one lol!)

And also the chassis No on my log book has the last 4 digits different to that on the car-but apparently this is something to do with it being a GT and having a special code to prevent people from trying it on with ES's (as in modding an ES to look like a GT and selling it to the unsuspecting public!)

My Celeb certainly ain't white - then again, if we get any more bloody rain this summer it may end up that way...!!

Could be wrong (usually am) but the ebay 480 in question doesn't 'feel' like a GT - wrong wheels, lack of presence, etc...!??

Yeh i noticed the wheels and the lack of a front spoiler etc, so its not like he is even trying to pass it off as a fake GT (as i mentioned above, some people mod their ES's to GT spec and then try to flog 'em! The cheek

Lol. Only daft people...

A gt in condition x might be worth 500.

An ES in the same condition'd onlt be worth about 100 quid less. It'd cost you a hell of a lot more than that just to source the wheels/seats/doorcards and badge!

If you can take an ES as pass it off as a vintage rolls royce, then you might be onto a good scam!!

Hey Turbus!Ive just come back from a local auction where I purchased several things...

6 of these things were white 480s.The other thing was a 600 mile range car cannon.Curiously,the cannon was preset to the Scottish regions.

Im guilty of force feeding one Scot a white one,and shall fire more willy nilly until Scotland pewks white 480 from every Loch!!!

Maybe it was removed-mine had a spoiler and those that have turned up on ebay (the genuine ones that is lol) have had front spoilers. I'm pretty sure they did...

Ours has got a bit of a spoiler! One day we might get around to replacing it, need to sort the leaking power steering first though.

Lol i couldnt help it...i had to say something...but he had now acknowledged it is indeed an ES!

Apparently the log book said GT, but now he's looked at the back it does indeed say ES!

Car looks typical of a late standard ES - wheels, jaquard etc. My GT has a spoiler and funny patterned leather seats and is FMR

And another thing - that car has a sunroof - my GT as well as a celebration I had - didnt - I guess the idea is if you have air con you dont want a sunroof to let the cold air out.

Actually got my head bitten off by one of the supposed GT owners-i was told very bluntly that it had GT on the logbook therefore it WAS a GT as the log book is ALWAYS right. As i have mentioned above, anyone who has had experience in the auto trade will know different!
