Here we go again

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

As you may or may not know I lost my recent battle with beating the 480 addiction and now my decline into complete and utter insanity continues, I tried, I really did, I even bought a bloody escort for crying out loud, didn't quite get as far as standing up in a room full of people and saying 'Hi I'm Jim, and I'm addicted to 480's' , but only because I couldn't find any support groups that deal with anything this dangerous, and even my doctor couldn't help me, apparently there's no known cure...

Yes, this means I'm trying to repair my car yet again

This morning my mission was to find a new exhaust manifold, but being a bit of a cheapskate I thought I would have a go at fixing it instead

Anyway, after a few minutes with the welder I had myself an intact (if not slightly dodgy looking) manifold, so I then put it all back together and went to start the car

Started first try, ran like a good un, until that metal water pipe that runs across the front of the engine decided to split...

Not long now, it'll be back on the road soon

I hope

Bloody good on you Jim...a 480 rising from the ashes lol. You never struck me as a quitter, i had a feeling that it wasn't the last we'd hear of your 480...

Good luck! :D

Tonee: '93 Two Tone. High mileage but nice 'n' tidy.
Sheba: '91 ES Paris Special. Love that leather, baby. Scrapped and used as a spares car.

I've been quiet for a while so I thought I'd better stick my nose in and post a little update
I wrote: Not long now, it'll be back on the road soon
Yeah right....

Total amount of work carried out on 480 since last post - none

Not had the time, the escort  and the 306 seem to be swallowing all my spare time, along with other peoples cars as well, I've got an astra I'm supposed to be fixing for someone parked next to the 480, going to have to get a move on with that, it'll be one less thing to do

It's got to a point now where the 306 has started going to a garage for work as I just aint got time to do it

Oh well, shit happens... going to run out of good weather soon, so it's a question of either fix it quick or buy another and use it for bits, or just get rid and start again... dunno yet

Still starts first time every time, idles perfectly as well - how annoying is that

Wet fish stinks
