Highest Mileages

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Highest Mileages

Post by ovlov 480 » Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:45 am

Hello everyone, I was wondering what the highest milage 480's are up to. My 480 turbo on an H plate is over 140,000 and the engine still runs very nicely....the rest of the car is falling to pieces but hey you can't have everything

230,000 Crikey O'Riley  . That sort of mileage should be possible but would require obsessive servicing. I don't think mine was serviced properly for about 30,000 miles but then I only paid £150 for it. After 230,000 miles I'm surprised there was any bodywork left at all!!!!!!!

Yep there was a J plated Paris on ebay last year with 210000.I know one of Lee's 480s has 200k on it too,or did!

Mines 95/M,well 19/12/94,on 127k and still tight as a drum(mer boy)!

My first 480,a red '87 ES was still flying at 156000 miles, only needed an oil cooler that was it!

168.000 miles.. for a 1988 car with first turbo and ECU chip (300.000 km's)

beaten up as she was all her life by my wooden shoes..., and the ecu chip I think thats worth a big applause :-)
luck,

I'd love a high mileage milestone 480. :volvo: Or, I'd settle for a 240!

The only problem with having such high mileage cars, is that most of the time it's been put on by several other owners and not yourself! :cryhard:

Rock-on to the owners with big miles! :hopping:

I'll not be winning any prices at 90K then!

The engine's done about 90k now (warranty replacment), but the actual car has covered approx 108k. Newer speedo still say's 42k though, which is nice :D So collectively, the car's miles add up to 240k...so does that count?

Jim, no wonder your car is falling apart - you've been driving it too much. Last thread we had on this you and I were about equal but I'm still just under the 148k mark.

Your latest troubles make me very nervous about topping 150k...
Tonee: '93 Two Tone. High mileage but nice 'n' tidy.
Sheba: '91 ES Paris Special. Love that leather, baby. Scrapped and used as a spares car.
