Nurburgring

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Yeah I booked the ferry for Monday returning Friday. MatBat is over from New Zealand and will be joining me! I had got myself an MBC but I'm not going to bother fitting it.

I think I should remind 480 turbo drivers that even without the rich mod the car is still quick and has surprised me.

totally agree, i keep meaning to get a richmod, but to be honest i don't feel the need yet, i feel that my car has plenty of grunt.

Going from MBC to without is a painful change for me. Makes a huge difference i reckon.

We had a new high flow cat fitted to ours early this year and the thing flies now. My wife thoroughly pissed off both an R32 Golf and a 5 litre V8 Holden Commodore SS at the same time recently. You know you have upset them when they scream past flat out at the next set of lights after you slow down to the speed limit. The Holden thought he could cut my wife off and failed.

Good one mate! Same thing happened to me yesterday, yeah, they always do huffily pass you after you have slowed down :D .
Do you have the "rich mod"? Because you really should look into it if you don't!

We made it!

From calais it took us 4 hours which includes stopping 4 times for lunch and fuel.

Drove across france at 90mph
across belgium at 120mph because we thought there was no speed limits then later found the car could be confiscated!

Into Germany keeping more legal :)

Staying at a bikers (no comment) b&b.

now making cd's for track day music. The ring opens at 5pm so have some stuff to go see first.

having fun :D

Well, I managed to keep martins car in one piece, got in some awesome laps with plenty of squeeking from the tyres, had fun going through the carousel flat tack followed by a quick right hander which threw the back round nicelly. Martins car handled very well, though it struggled on power midway through due to high oil temps and a LOT of heatsoak. At one stage after the oil temp was at 143 degrees C. Had to really work the autobox to keep the pace up but she stood up to the abuse admirably. fun was had by all!

Didn't time laps, couldn't find a timer ANYWHERE in germany. We filmed the laps though and I reckon the last lap would be around 10min.
