Fog lights/rust and MOT query

Hi All, My rear fogs are playing up and one of my fronts has a section missing from the lens. I assume this would constitute an MOT failure. I know fog lights are tested, if fitted. Has anyone removed them prior to the MOT to get it through? Also the section next to the rear wheel arch (2 L shape panels welded to form a U-is this the sill?) has a split about 3 inches along the weld due to rust. Will this fail the MOT? Anyone know of prices to repair about this length if failure is the case? Thanks Bov
