I played this game the other day on the same web-site. I went for 2 avon zv1's speed H. These were replacing goodyear eagle venturas. I thought i'd give them a go as they had similar tread patterns. I'd recomend either of these but not sure on the firestones. Good cheap place to get tyres eh? Half the price of quick fit!

Paul

I saw a bad review about them in the wet. (avon zv1's) but I would stress that the firestones had good and bad reps.
I guess not everyone agrees.
Yes your right about the prices, mine come tomorrow. I say balls to Kwikfit. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I found Yokohama A520's to be the Mutt's Nuts on my old Golf GiT. It never broke traction or slid and was very hard under normal driving to wheelspin, and it had a highly tuned engine. These tyres even grip with perfect confidence in the wet even at 90. Brilliant. I have Eagle Venturas on the front and my Turbo spins quite easily. The back tyres squirm all over the place but i think this is more down to stuffed shox. I htink I'll check Kwik Con during the week though...

The avon zv1 is a good-ish tyre. You get what you pay for.

I had the ZV1 on my last car and couldn't moan. Just their not too clever in the wet due to the hard compound. But once warm in the dry there good.

The best tyres i've come across so far are either Goodyear Eagle F1 or Dunlop Sport 9000.

On my 15" wheels, I used Continental as they are a fair priced tyre, but stick to the road like glue, even in the wet. They also won an top gear (or was it autotrader) award for being generally the best tyre in the catagory

1995 480 Turbo, Flame Red Metallic, Jacquard/Leather
