The car does not start up.

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Start with the basics - do you hear the fuel pump activate when you turn the key so the electrics are on, but not actually turning the starter? (don't know if it's audible on all cars though - mine is) Have you checked that you're getting sparks at the plugs? If you aren't, or they are weak, time to check your HT leads, distributor cap and rotor arm for damage/wear. Also check the battery has sufficient whoomph (not just charge in Volts but ampage too) - always worth checking this basic stuff before talking about knackered fuelling systems <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> - Let us know the results... There's loads more little tests you can do, btw - but didn't want to bog you down <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

I checked all the fuses but I found some way way under the dash and it was the fuel pump. (panic over) Thanks for your help. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
