Crash Test Data
Call me a cynic, but is there any crash test data available for the 480?

Whilst I spend most of my time pottering along at 90mph, you constantly have idiots trying to destroy you with bad driving. I commute so i'm clocking 80 miles a day in 3ft from next car type situations. If only my insurance company knew!

It has crossed my mind weather it may be worth while investing in some additional safety such as harness etc. Helmet might be useful but may attract too much attention! Tyres are taken care of, I use Pirelli.

I do not consider the car to have good brake pads, yet I have replaced all discs. Are there any up rated pads available that might save my skin in the event of an unavoidable collision (I say this as emergency stops are common!). Unfortunately I do not have ABS, so have to rely on experience to avoid potential loss of control.

Seriously, I would be interested in anyones comments on worthwhile additions or confirmations of data on crash and roll capabilities, especialy as we enter the winter.

Regards,

Jamie

Re: Crash Test Data
I used to have Good Year Eagles under my car, but replaced the front tyres with Swedish Gislaved tyres...

My dad was really impressed by them when he bought them, when I got them I noticed they offered less grip than the Good Years! So it's back to Good Year for me <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
Cya,

Daniël Wilten
Volvo 480 ES Dark Green Metallic, 1996
Volvo 480 ES Graphite Grey Metallic, 1987
