Bodywork warranty

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Bodywork warranty

Post by dragon » Mon Nov 18, 2002 5:33 pm

Whilst looking on the Interweb for the BHP of the 480 turbo, I came across a page from parkers.co.uk that states the 1995/6 480 turbo has a 8 year bodywork warranty. Does anyone know if this is true? I have 2 small rust spots developing inside the driver door on a seam and wondered if I can get it done under warranty? How would I go about finding out what warrantys the car has left? Thanks. Gaz.

Even if it had 8 years warranty it only will be fixed if there's a hole and if the car has been maintained and all service has been done at an authorized Volvo-workshop.

So I fear it's a dead run in most cases... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">
Real power and Turbo-shit

Luckilly the car has been maintained well and has had all it's proper services at the right time at Volvo dealerships, so there's still a chance. I'm going to call the local dealer to find out more. Wish me luck...

It probably doesn't just cover these years, it's just the page I strayed onto was about the 1996/6 models - I guess all 480s have the same bodywork warranties etc - I'm off to the local dealership at lunch today to try and find out what the deal is...
