When I bought my car they were already broken.
Many times I hit my knee when stepping out of the car, especially when parked next to another car.
The doors are relatively too large for Europe (american size?).
Melvin

I bought a new one once at the volvo dealer, they are about 15 euros.

You could reinforce them by glueing some kind of stringer in the inside, like a plastic strip.
I used the broken one to reinforce the other door pocket on the inside. I cut a piece of the edge and glued it on the inside near the edge of the door pocket. There is a small crack in there and now it won't grow further.
