What are the best wheels!
Carrying on from my Pictor/cetus thread here is a poll to find out which is the nicest original alloy...Just to recap we have:
Pollux (affectionately known as Bolux)
Castor
Atlas
Vega
Vesa
Taurus
Avior
Cetus
Pictor
Canis
Couldnt fit Lyra or Anteres in the poll - sorry!
This should get interesting....

First up, 14" are not on my list even tho they are cool designs. Cetus is out cos they are too thin, Canis and Pictor are on 440 & 460's. Taurus are 480 only... so are Vesa's... which I used to love, but when they get dirty they stay dirty. So Taurus. SE or Turbus is rare enough, but 5 spokes means I don't need to get the toothbrush out to clean them. Vesa take a lot of cleaning to get up to scratch and still look a bit BMW-ish... would I swap.... hmmmmm... tough.

Canis look from picture as if they would look better on the car- but in real life Taurus wins.
Vesa are interesting but not my style.
Atlas and Cetus are both quite nice.
Avior are the worst IMO. Had them on a 480 once and they look fairly shit. Seem to cheapen the look of the car!

I had to nick the castors off my Dad's old 3 series when i had an MOT, as all my tyres were...well, pretty bad. With it lowered, black plastic bumpers and a grey/blue metallic body colour, they looked pretty cool...
Saw a 480 on eBay a while back on Castors...not a good look! Cetus look nice on the right colour, Pictors look nice too-but the only one i really like is the Taurus. Vesa wheels remind of the Lyra alloys too much...

Can someone give a proper picture of a Vesa alloy to include? the one above looks like a poor quality childs drawing rather than showing off it's sheer BBS-like goodness? My three are in the garage and in need of a good clean.
