Very nice Turbo !!

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I take it everybody has seen this :

I think this one will easily go for 1500, If I had the cash I'd be first in the queue !

Ah, so that's what the colour of mine is officially known as!

That's a very nice example. Having just half the amount of the current bid in my bank account, to last me another 2 weeks, is quite depressing though.

well, it's nice, BUT...

It's sat on 14's, it's got the velour trim and orange clusters, it won't have TRAX, and doesn't have an airbag. Not sure what that bottle is above the air filter, is that for the 1st type ABS? If it does go for £1,500 then I'd say they've overpaid. Just my opinion, as mk2 Turbo snob

It's nice though, if you don't want all the toys

Yes, thats the brake fluid reservoir. Is that somewhere else on the later cars then?

It's a while since I've looked inside a Mk 2 engine bay, but IIRC it's on the offside of the bulkhead and it's a lot smaller.

Can someone enlighten me?... at what point in time did the Mk1/Mk2 thing happen? Were there significant changes made to the car?

I'm guessing clear side indicators was one change.

I have a 1993 K, so I think that's a Mk1?

Is it not back on Flea Bay now?

Maybe nothing wrong with the car but it always makes me think twice when that happens.....The seller has not given a reason for re listing either??

Im probably a bit silly but far from rich, just something about older low mileage cars that floats my boat ! :)

In response to johnny_e, Pretty sure the mirrors also became fully body coded instead of half coded and It got the big CHUNKY steering wheel with airbags etc, Someone correct me if i'm off on one ;)

Well, not quite. I think the wing-mirror revision was before the more major changes, and certainly before the airbags were fitted as standard.

In 92 came the Mk1.5:-

For turbo this meant rounded mirrors, late type engine/clutch (better cam, lower boost, so more tunable, higher rated clutch), late type CEM meaning auto closure etc, vented disks/associated calipers, nicer 'Atlas' 14" wheels.

In 1993, at some point, there were further changes, making a Mk2:-

Half leather black interior (much nicer), Airbag, seatbelt pretensioners, later type improved ABS unit with [useless] traction control, nicer still 'Taurus' 15" wheels, clear indicator clusters. More colours, ie Dark met green, flame red.
