Finally enjoying my 480 turbo

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Finally enjoying my 480 turbo

Post by BLK_480 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:52 pm

So I bought my 480 turbo for $700 (US) the clutch was slipping and it has some minor cosmetic issues (for a 15 year old car it's in amazing shape). The clutch was replaced a few weeks ago, I've given it time to break in and I also found that I was missing a hose clamp on my turbo hard pipe (I felt like I had a bad boost leak so i started poking around). I can now say with the clutch broken in and the boost leak fixed that the 480 turbo is a really fun car to drive. It's not my Porsche, by any stretch of the imagination; but it still gives me a good rush under heavy accelleration and it has some amazing features for a car its age.

:D Good to hear. I was pleasantly surprised with my purchase of a 480T last year. I paid about $850CAN. It has a T25 upgrade from the T2 and a MBC fitted. Its hella fun to drive. Traction in winter is a drag but meh... I can still have fun with it  If only the interior didn't rattle so much, this car would be perfect.
