Rough value of my 480?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Rough value of my 480?

Post by macaroni » Sat Dec 01, 2007 7:56 am

I have a 1994M 480 turbo, in black.
101K miles, but not much history, recent cambelt and tensioners.
No rust, just a couple of little dents.
Good interior and everything works.

Any ideas please?

Well, it's a tough one-mine was a '93 Turbo, with recent cambelt/clutch, fsh and 93k on the clock, and i got over four figures for mine, and yours is a year newer...dunno really, it's a tough one. I got what i was asking so was quite fortunate. Stu Chacks 480 went on eBay for just over £1700...swings and roundabouts with 480's!

Any chance of a good accurate description and some photo's? Be able to make a better judgement then!

I sold my black 94 turbo, 110k for £650.

- I'd converted it myself though, from an ES and as such said ES on the logbook. There was also several imperfections, small dents, and i'd not managed to get Taurus for it, it was on Atlas which were strictly 92 turbo spec.

Had it been a proper job i'd have been after upwards of 800. Black sells well.

A really nice one commands a price which is very difficult to predict.
Past:
94 Turbo - Red
94 Turbo - Black (Converted from NA 2.0)
92 Turbo - Red
90 Turbo - Silver
Now:
00 Exige
15 GKD Legend
16 Skoda Superb

About £400-£450 at the moment Tony.

An enthusiast will pay over the odds though.

I was hoping for more about £750. It has to be worth more than £400, but I doubt I'd get four figures for it. I should be so lucky!

I'm looking to swap it for a 205gti, so it looks like it's worth a straight swap.

Cheers,

Macaroni
