I need your help

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I need your help

Post by CrazIvant » Sat Jan 06, 2007 7:12 pm

I would like to have a 480 in a game (rFactor). I'm working on the 3d model (I'll post here some pics soon). I have to do almost everything yet, but I'm setting up the physics a bit.
So I need as much info as possible of stock suspension and, if possible, modified ones by volvo and as many manufacturers as possible (bump and rebound travells, bump and rebound bump stiffness, spring stiffness, anti-roll bar stiffness, toe in and caster (if possible in cm).
I need power/torke curves of: 1.7 non turbo and as much modifications (chips, T3, etc) as you can find.
Sounds of all engines (modified and stock ones) are needed too: starting up, medium and high acceleration (in 3th or 4th), idle, mantaining 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000rpm.

I know I'm asking too much but where cand I find this if not here?

If you want to contact with me or chat in messenger my adress is crazivant [@] hotmail.com

Thanks in advance for your help and sorry for my english ;)

Here you've got a pic of the interior. A lot of work to do but it has almost a good shape :)

I'll try to look for power/torke curves of: 1.7 non turbo and turbo model.
PS. change steering wheel ;) This one is from 440, in 480 they were different ;)
anyway good job

rFactor is better than Racer. Here you've got a pair of videos of volvo 300:

I need the next sounds:

starting up, medium and high acceleration (in 3th or 4th), idle, mantaining 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000rpm, and, if possible, on the rev limit.

Thanks a lot!!

Anything about anti-sway bar stiffness?

haven't measured it, but I can check for you. Do you need the Force acting on the wheels per degree of bodyroll or would you like the dimensions of the swaybars?
If needed I can also give you the (global) dimensions of the suspension front and rear.

At the momment, the only thing I need is antiroll-bar stiffness in N/mm, diameter and power. I don't know exactly what power means, but it says that:
FrontAntiSwayRate=(1.11e11, 4.0) // (base, power), so rate = base * (diameter in meters ^ power)
I'm reading and learning about suspensions...

The car has now a quite realistic handling I think. As soon as possible, I'll rec a video for you to analyze ;)

Thanks a lot for your help!! :hopping:

I think it's enough with anti-roll bar diameter.

It would be nice to have caster and front and rear toe-ins in centimeters too (here in the website these values are in degrees).

Thanks again :hopping:

looking good, must have taken a lot of effort to get it to that stage...

tho i'd hate to break it to you, there is one fatal floor in the model, i'm sorry to tell you, but youve drawn it with the steering wheel on the LHS, unfortunately the only side that you could ever consider steering on is on the RHS, whilst driving on the LHS of the road.

I know it is going to take a lot of effort to change it all, but thought i better tell you now before you think it's almost finished!

Nah nice job nice to see someone putting in the effort :P

Ian

PS. yes i know where he comes from, and the sort of joke is intentional, no matter how unfunny it is...
