Hi all

what power rating converter would i need for a very small tower case pc 300w i think is the psu ?

its just ideas as i have this tiny dell 900mhz which would ,if put in right would be very space saving which i would hook up to a 7inc monitor in the front somewhere with its mouse at easy access.

may have to modify the cdroms to avoid jumping etc

just an idea as i was going to modify my own pc shell but this case is tiny by itself

cheers all

maybe a stupid question but its early ish :D

a power converter is always not a good idea and a waste of money.

there are several power simulators on the net try this one (for epia):

http://www.epiacenter.com/powersim/powe ... tor_v2.htm

which cpu and motherboard has the dell 900?

for a car-pc especially in a 480 i would recommend the epia series cause it fits in the glove compartment.

also using notebook hardware (cdrom and hd) is better because of lower power consumption and more shock resistance

Hi all

cheers red im gonna check the link out :D

with regards to size i.e the one you state fits in the glove, but im gonna see what the damage is for the glovebox size advantage.

im not too bother`d which area it installs but yep the glove is an ideal and out of sight hiding place but i was thinking about building a hidden lump somewhere in front or back(front passenger footwell maybe)with if needed extra cool feeds from the exsiting cooling system in the car.

but like i said its a sketchy idea at presant untill she (my baby 480)proves herself.

not sure on cpu its been awhile since i had it out of the cupboard(pc man me i build them up and leave the best ones in a cupboard for emergencys):)

screen is B/W cos that was the desktop background i set, fancy colours were distracting.

main unit fitted under the drivers seat in a case i built round the motherboard. it was a tight fit!! controlled by a numeric keypad and a trackball.

in the middle pocket was an ATX PSU that was designed to run off a cars 12v supply, i built it myself :)

car is sadly gone now, i miss my old turbo :(
