speed dependent volume

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

Post by Lee666 » Wed Aug 17, 2005 9:35 pm

My radio has speed dependent volume control(raises and lowers with the speed of the car) but its not connected, does anyone know how to connect it up or even if you can on a 480?

whats the make and model of the radio....what kind of connectors are on the back...ie iso block etc.
was the radio bought from an audio place, or has it been removed from another car....if so it might have brand specific control or something

The answer to that is possibly.

It depends on the radio. I should be possible to pick up the speed sensor signal, if that is the radio is able to do something with it.

Weston Super Mud seems to be getting popular for 480s at the moment :)

Isnt that signal the same as the 1 for the cruise control?
that signal is at pin 9 or 13 of the green connector

Would drive me crazy volume going up and down. I can see the idea would work some times as I do turn the volume down if it's a tricky junction.

bit of a hit/miss then

The stereo is a VDO Dayton CR3300, it came with the car so i have no installation instructions only the user guide that i downloaded, it has iso plugs on the back(but no iso adapter, the wires have been cut and crimped together).

VDO usualy has the ISO directly into the radio or divice.
its such a pitty ppl cut the adaptor from a car.
there is so much availeble on the market to fit the original adaptor to a ISO
