Sony Xplod

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

I get the feeling, its more aimed at the boy racers rather than the audiophiles....could be wrong though.

It's cheap reasonable quality gear.

If you really want a top class system, don't bother.

Hi Brasco

I'd go with the whole boy racer thing-cheap 'n cheerful! What sort of setup are you after? The Xplode range is ok-gives good sound quality etc, but it 'lacks' something. You could easily find alot better quality for not much more money. Nothing wrong with Xplode, just that there's better about. I wish i had looked about a bit more before i got all my stuff!

I stand corrected on the colour front-a friend of mine has just bought some Xplode Subs, and they're Silver.

Xplode aren't bad, just not brilliant. If a cheap and ok sounding system is what you're after, then Xplode is for you. But if it's good quality you're after, as with most things, you get what you pay for.

Xplod laters. When these first came out a few years back we were selling around 20 a week. The only downside to this was the return rate. It was aroung 40% within a month. Due to this we stopped selling Xplod's.

In my opinion stay away from anything sony in the world of car audio

i used to have a sony MD head unit and it was great, was oldish though, about 5 years ago i got it and long before xplod came out.

The sub's a load of shit, the head unit is excellent for what it cost.

I got an Alpine too. Think it's the same as catgroom's. My only problem with it was I dropped the facia box and it broke the catch :(

Oh well
