Sony XR-6459

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

Sony XR-6459

Post by guitarcarfanatic » Mon Jun 13, 2005 5:51 pm

My new car has a Sony XR-6459 in it. It is a face off cassette player with a fair few features. I was just wondering if any of you guys know if a CD changer would work with it? There are some buttons with writing on which dont seem to do anything other than change the radio station but the writing suggests to me that they must do other things. If anyone knows a cd changer to work with this tape player or better still actually has this player and would lend me the mnual I would be very grateful!

Manys thanks, Rob

Best way to check is to pull the unit out and check on the back for either a round multi-pin connector like this:
<<put photo up later - photobucket's down>>

or a pair of phono connectors labelled up as BUS audio in:
<<put photo up later - photobucket's down>>

If you have that then the unit runs a Sony audio bus. Get a CDX-T69 unit off eBay or similar Sony CD-Changer and you'll be laughin mate
