Ehh, what did you connect the CD-ROM to? Or is it a simple setup with 12V power supply to the unit and via headphone an audio-out to an amplifier and then to the speakers? Or is it an extreeeeemely long headphone cable ;)

But why a CDROM player and not a cheap discman with anti-shock memory? Or aren't you bothered by skipping tracks?

@ coyote
It's conected with special hand made power suply to seat heating. Heating doesn't work so I had free cables with power. To radio it's contected by special cassette-adapter. It's a cassette with a long cable that you can connect to speakers out in CD-ROM.
And finally belive me they don't skip. If you don't belive come to Poland I'll give a ride on the worst roads in EU and tracks won't skip.

I thought about doing something sort of similar. Bascially if you got an in car PC, then you don't need a CD player on your head unit. What you can use is a slot loading PC CDROM, that you can get for about £10 on ebay. They get one of those USB>IDE adaptors. Look pretty nice, and you can get the fascia in black.
