Wiring diagram

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

Wiring diagram

Trying to fit Sony xr3749 radio into my 480 turbo, any idea where I can get a wiring diagram for the rear connections off the net?

If you have the 3x3 big radio connector in your dashboard you can either buy a ISO-connector to make it fit, or build one yourself:

Not all shops sell them, sadly... So if you have to make one yourself:

Code: Select all

-------    -------
|X * X|    |1 * 2|
|X X X|    |3 4 5|
|X X X|    |6 7 8|
-------    -------
The * marks the spot of the dummy pin, X marks the spot of a real pin. In the right image the pins are numbered, below are their purposes. This illustration shows the connector in the car when looking at it from the front.

1 = electr. antenna
2 = earth
3 = 12V switched (ignition on)
4 = positive (+) right front speaker
5 = negative (-) right front speaker
6 = 12V permanent
7 = positive (+) left front speaker
8 = negative (-) left front speaker

Hope this helps (and that it is correct).

RADIO CONNECTIONS

Post by Trevor Ayling » Wed Apr 06, 2005 4:33 pm

Daniel thank you.

I am OK with the wiring coming from the loom to the old radio.

I am not sure how the connectors on the back of the radio connect up. The top ISO plug is obviously for the speakers, but which is left, right, front, back, isnt clear - but I can experiment I guess. The bottom ISO plug is for all the power connections and is not clear - can you help with this?
