New ICE install

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

New ICE install

Post by Steve-o » Sun Apr 03, 2005 3:55 pm

Supp yally yall. Had this stuff fitted to my 480 S last week @ AutoTek in Sheffield. Managed to get them to do the box in red like the colour of my 480 and not standard carpet grey, looks much better. And yes i can still get to the space saver - bonus!

Much love to the guy who designed the boot cover otherwise i would have never had the balls to get this dont into a normal parcel shelf for fear of it gettin knicked!

Well it was an un-used space so what better to do than get a nice big system installed. Its quite ammusing pulling up along side the shitty corsa's et al with listening to their distorted £59.99 (spread over a 12 month pay plan at 39% - stupid idiots) speakers from halfords n cranking mine up n seeing their shitty 'ripspeed etc' stickers fall off the sides of their door panels coz of the vibrations!

Anyway sacrificing a 'boot' for a good system is more than acceptable.....if not mandatory!!!!

At some point I have to get my stuff installed.

The subwoofer box just about fits in the boot, where I will put the amps I don't know... Yet there are 5 of them, and not small either. Then there are the speakers.... As Chris says they are a little chunky, 8 inch woofers and 6 inch ferofluid cooled midrange, plus some titanium dome tweeters.

Time for that later I guess...

I have stuffed my amp in the sparetire place. The plastic cover sits over usually, so its not visible. So if you don't have any sparetire, there's plenty of room for atleast one normally sized amp. Maybe a suggestion to you rpruen?
