Recommendations for a new CD Player

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

I was looking at second hand alpine, but people were paying over £100 for a setup my parents had when i was 15 or so, so about 7/8 year old kit!

For anyone interested in the Alpine / Ipod setup, here are some details, It does cost around £60 from good old halfords but in the next few months I'm sure it will appear cheaper in some mail order ads.

Adapter:

Alpine KCA-420i, works with iPod mini, 3G 15/20/40GB. iPod 4G 20/40/60GB

This will work with the higher range of alpine units (Ai-Net), e.g (from the new range);

CDA-9847R
CDA-9853R
CDA-9855RB

are the ones Halfords stock, but typically any recent Alpine unit that retails over £199.99 should be suitable.

Halfords are also currently stocking a budnle of the CDA-9847R and KCA-420i together, but I can't remember how much for! (it'll be cheaper by mail order anyway) :wink:
