Anyone know how to get a CD out when its jammed in?

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

Don't know about your model, but most drives, be them CD or DVD have a small pin-hole that you can shove a small piece of metal, say a straightened paperclip, into to mefchanically eject the CD.

It's jsut a matter of finding the hole....
That's my car up there, see?

Is that not just for like computer drives with slide out trays? I have done it before on an old panasonic but cant remember how. How come its jammed anyhow? Has it got a reset button? There's maybe some sort of mechanism locking the lugs?

If I'd come to Scots meet mate Id have been seriously putting my sobriety in jeopardy by all accounts!!! ;)

Anyway never mind that,Ive tried the reset button and cant see any hole whatsoever. :(

I really see this as a Sat Nav call!!!!!!So if anyone knows of one, damaged,b grade stock, whatever as long as the system powers up and does the job I'll be very grateful! :D

I had a CD stuck in my Volvo changer a few weeks ago. No reset-button on the changer sadly.

When I changed my battery I tried to eject the cd-rack once more. And guess what: the cd-rack came out!! I noticed that 1 CD was missing, so I removed the 5 CD's that were inside, re-inserted the cd-rack, it made a lot of clickerdyclick sounds and travelled passed all positions (1 to 6). When I ejected the cd-rack again the missing disc was inside!

My guess is that my cd-changer didn't have enough juice to put the CD in the rack before ejecting, jamming everything. And that somehow the new battery provided enough juice to do this.

Hiya Groom take the covers off carfully (watch makers screwdrivers needed) and you should be able to manually turn the electric motor with a corkscrew gear , turn this by hand(with small screwdriver) which will take quite a while about 30 to 40 turns etc then it will spit out the CD very very slowly, this also works on motor fed tape players.

Worked a treat when my 48k ZX Specturm was faulty, oddly I never had a problem with it after I ripped the cover off and threw it about a few times!

More seriously, I had to take apart a kenwood 3+1 MD changer because the discs got stuck in it. They come apart easilly enough, but it took me 45 minutes to get one disc out. The other I eventually gave up on as it's only a copy anyhow. I'd imagine a CD player would be far easier given that none of the loading mech for the changer would be present. Don't throw it before having a go, you've nothing to loose.

although i dont know your unit, there is an industry standard which states that cd players must have an emergency eject mechanism! this is usually a small hole about 1mm or less around the opening that you put the cd intoyou will need a piece of wire (or a paperclip) at least 2 inches long and the cd will come out!
alternativly contact your manufacturer quoteing "your cd player has stolen my cd"
