In car DVD System

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

In car DVD System

Post by Big Brother » Thu Jan 06, 2005 10:54 am

I’ve always wanted one and now I’m going to get one, just wandering does anyone here have on in their 480? If anyone has what it like? I’ll connect my slim line PS2 to it as well. This is to keep my girlfriend entertained on long distance journeys shes a Sims addict

Cheers

If you search, myself, murf and laserowl (maybe other too) did a pretty good thread on the subject. Obvioulsy just a dvd would require much less in the way of components.

buy a module to replace inside the unit i believe. Certainly they will run off DC anyway after transformation.

just had a thought, thats a yank NTSC PS2 that that guys modded and therefore runs off 120V, the uk 240V version will probably have a different power board!

Maybe it does, but it's still supplying 12V to the PS2, so it's just a case of finding the correct wire to cut from the power supply to the PS2 main board.

I should still work.

I think murf has issues with stepping 12v up to 240v, then down again to 12v!

Not only is it bloody expencive, but it's a completely bastardish hack, since the PS2 runs on 12V anyway.

I think that's what you where trying to say?

I agree :)
