rear speaker type 'plant pots' in the front?

Im sure my rear 13cm speakers sound better than my fronts, and maybe thats because of those little plant pot things the rears sit in focusing the sound forward? Has anyone tryed fitting the plant pot on the front speakers behind the door cards? Should reduce the panel rattle etc?
