speaker renovation!

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

speaker renovation!

Post by timrosser » Thu Oct 21, 2010 2:43 pm

Hi, can anyone tell me the size and shape of the standard celebration Volvo 480 speaker set? One of mine is begging to flap a bit and I'd like to replace without altering the interior by cutting bigger holes etc.

Thanks

OK thanks VolvoJim, i will play with my faders and try and work out which is wrong. I'm not 100% on this as I might be tempted to go for a an upgrade while I'm at it, but certainly very tempted, thanks for getting back to me.

HI Jim I would need one rear, one of mine seems to have lost some treble, nothing horrid, just not that great.

Have any of you gained any benefit by putting in a different brand to the original Volvo speakers? I mean without subwoofers or any hacksawing, just using the speaker cavity's Volvo intended?

Oh from another thread you posted on ......the front speakers come with a double connection . The tweeters are integral to the door handle housing and have wires running down to the main speaker.

The indicator sound/clicking comes from the CEM unit it has nothing to do with the speaker system.

Thanks for that Jim, you if Dr Who swapped his tarids for something with more side impact protection you would get my vote as the Dr!
