Radio decoding.

Got a radio/cassette out of a scrapper. I was listening to it while taking off some other bits I wanted. Trouble is there was no code with it. I'm assuming when I fit it that I'll need to enter a code. Assuming the default code (oooo) doesn't work can anyone suggest a really cheap and easy way of getting it recoded? I've just looked online and some of these firms that do it want £25!!

Is it the original Volvo unit from the scrapper? If so, I think your local dealer can get it from the reg. No. or VIN

you might not need a code try it first before making an expensive assumption.

Good advice Chriskay, thanks. I just rang Kings Volvo in Southampton. The fella seemed a bit bemused but gave me the code for the radio I took off a scrap 440 and the code for my own 480 radio already in the car. All I needed to give him were the VRN's.
