Volvo VC708 to ISO

Hi there

I bought a 480 recently, which is fitted with a factory VC708. Having put a deposit on it and going to collect the car bit later, I thought I would get a ISO adaptor in advance to save some time.

Well, that was the idea. However, I got one of off ebay listed as "PC2-43-4 Volvo 440 460 480 ISO Lead" but it simply won't fit my car! I can't post a link unfortunately as I haven't had 10 posts - you should find it easily enough with a search though. It has two separate connections - one has four pins in a square layout, the other is a longer, rectangular connection with slightly offset rows of pins.

Has anyone got any idea of the one that I DO need for my car? I would consider wiring one myself, but I'd prefer not to have to...

Thanks in advance...

I have come across a post, some time back, by MGB_GT titled "Radio for volvo 480 s TT 1992"

This contained some (what would be) very useful pictures for me but the pictures must be dead-links now. MGB_GT, are you able to still get these pics for me?

Many thanks,
James

Last check that no one has a part number at all for this ISO adaptor.

Just for info, the adaptor I have is a PC2-43-4.

I have read that some of these Volvo 480s take an adaptor that is often labelled as being for a Ford of around the same era. Can anyone confirm this and possibly supply a part number?

Ta very much,
Jim

Just drawing a line under this one. I have today hard-wired the iso connection into my car so whatever that Volvo standard is, it's gone!

Replaced my vc-708 with a more up to date unit. Anyone wondering what adapter lead to use its the autoleads PC-2-16-4 commonly used in early ford escorts. Plenty available online still..
