Alternative ways of playing your favourite tracks...

OK, well i am completely fed up with my DVD player, it has a mind of its own, and keeps turning itself on and playing even when i am not in the car-and being as it is attached to the sub, the battery is dying (OK, this isnt in my 480 at the mo, but it will be...)

So what other ways can i play my favourite tunes?

I attached my old CD player back in, the USB doesnt work, i get Error 12 when i put in an SD card, and the CD says Error 1 and has eaten my Prodigy CD, so REALLY not happy now!!!!

I know i could reinstall the original tape player, but then i would have to get a portable CD player and use a tape converter, and the wires go all over the place, its so untidy and does my head in!!

The radio plays naff music, so no i dont want to just listen to my radio.

The question is, can i not link my phone straight to the car system?? There must surely be wires n adapters in this day and age?!?!?

PLEASE someone help!

stone age technology can come to your rescue simply rig an inline switch on the power rail so you can kill the power.

problem solved or you can go for the brainwashing option lie down in a peaceful room and listen to naff music while being forced to read the Telegraph from cover to cover repeatedly whilst repeating the manta aygos are great ! 4 hours later your problems will be solved
you will be complete dork/anaorak and will just love radio 4

Oh just make sure its the telegraph and not the Sun as the consequences are unthinkable!

And *ahem* i do listen to R4 sometimes..the evenin comedies are hilarious!!

Also, have been given a headphone adapter just now for my phone and been told to fit an FM receiver to that and then i can tune it in to the radio!

yep a switch to kill the power is a better way to go that way you get to keep the dvd player

tis a good idea, tho this DVD player has got to go! It fouls the top of the dash, and i tried to modify it, and hated it cos it wasnt standard! So i bought a new one and will put that in. Thinking of installing one with a detacheable screen so i can instal the screen elsewhere. But that will be some time in the distant future

Well i got my FM transmitter, and it is fab! Everything with a 3.5 jack can be used to play the music, and the one i have got has a super duper mode (illegal in the EU) which can be turned on /off depending on where you are, which increases the signal strength so you have fantastic reception!

And i am loving it!!

O and in the future the idea for the cubby hole space is ideal!!

I can't stand modulators....half the bass and high freq seems to get lost in the ether. Maybe i didn't have a good one? I struggled with interferance...even though it was in-line with my antenna.

I have a lidl special in my Nissan. Mp3 cds, usb, sd card slot...but best of all, a 3.5mm jack plug Aux in.

It even has a remote. 40quid...bargain.

My old head unit was awesome, USB, SD Slot, Cd player etc, but then it died

I have had no probs with my FM Transmitter, if anything the bass is even better, but it may just be my sub. No interference at all, and the quality is fine. And best of all, is still cheaper than a new headunit and i dont have the hassle of changing CDs
