What Speakers Sounds Good in a 480 ?

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

I have installed Pioneer TS-E1396 speakers and am perfectly satisfied. Then again: I am not the biggest audiophile in the world

I believe I did have to make two holes in the plastic behind the speakers to make them fit. But you don't see it when everything is mounted.

The choice is endless. How much do you want to spend ?
I fitted two sets of JBL 5.25 component speakers front and back. These cost £40 a set.I am more than happy with them considering the price.
I have a post on here showing what I did.

I have some jbls with adjustable direction tweeters.

You can point them diagonally upward which works surprisingly well. The SOund from the passenger tweeter is similar to that of the tweeter in the door pull.

I have fitted Hifonics WR-52cx 5,25'' (13 cm), good build and sound quality and only 40 mm depth needed.Fits in the original housing,
just needs some minor adapting of the covers.
Front and rear btw.
For now no more 480's : maybe some day ....?

I have fitted many different speakers in the 480 and find components fit and sound the best. I do tend to install the tweeter in the stock postion as the chavs don't see them. Most of the time slight modification is need to do this.

you can fit bigger 6inch speakers in the door with a simple door build and removal of the door pocket
