DIY touch screen install - How?

Here you can post things about ICE (In Car Entertainment). Like how to install GPS navigation, a DVD-player and other yuppie-stuff. This category might be moved to "those other things" in the end...

yeh, 7" fits where your radio/gauges are.. or the place behind the gearstick.
I wanted to build it in like red did, didnt have the time for that so i ended up fixing it below. Due to my time it doesnt look the thing yet, but it does work like a charm and i can get it out of my car.

T5 has a whole diff dash, just look for red his posts .. could always put a couple pics online if ya want.

the xenarc 700ts will fit with slight modifications to the dashboard and the radio duct beneath it. you will have to cut out approx 1cm on the sides, 3-4 cm in the depth and a bit in the height too.
the problem is that you have only approx 12cm from the vem to the top of the radio duct and the most monitors are much higher than this

Dont mind the quality, took them with my ipaq..

The mount of the lcd is as easy as possible, i can still detach the screen whenever i want in 7 sec and put it backup.. so thats a good thing.. still needs a OEM look.. whenever i find the time.

The software is road runner, would recommend it.. if you want the volvo logo 3d spinning around (flash) just give me a shout :)
Oh and its a touch screen so hence the fingers on it, ive put on a plastic sheet that minimalises the sun glare :)

No not in the T5, although he has done one for a 480 ( 8" screen ) and is in the process of fitting a 7" into an Audi
