Front Fog-light protection
Hi all,
I have bought a set of new front foglights (the newer model, fixed focus) and before I mount them I want to add some protection to them. Both my previous fixed focus lights have been smashed by stones or something hitting them whilst driving. I don't want this to happen again.
Has anyone got experience with this? I was thinking about some sort of tape you could put over the glasses to prevent it from breaking when a little stone hits it again...
I wouldn't like having to buy new units within a year again...

Still not sure what to use. 3M Scotchgard Protector is a spraycan that should leave a protective layer on the glass. I don't have too much confidence in that solution. Something like the Folia Tec product seems appealing! Think I will check with a car-style center in town to see what they have to say.

thry a shop like "heuts" or maybe halfords. get some race mesh, of what it is called. Looks cool (like chrissIroll's car, but only on the foglihts) in dark there is plenty of light still coming trough.
btw, stay away from behind trucks, saves you from a lot of bouncing stones.
I mean there is either a fix that looks good but works poor, or a solution that looks poor and works good...

hehehe I meant of course overtaking trucks at light speed as fast as possible. Did not now there was that much gravel in groningen
you can also try a simple board of persplex in front of the lamps. It can be made invisible, space enough.
I donot see how a foil or spray can whitstand the impact of a stone with 120 KM/h and more. Maybe its just to keep the broken pieces together after wards.
