Headlight bulb turn knob

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Hi, Martin. It just pulls straight out. If it's reluctant you can use the blade of a small screwdriver to start it.

Now come on, just give it one more biiiiiig pull,... Thats it... Sometimes the twisty knob might come off, but just pull the rest out with pliers... Dont be scared! My theory is you can always replace something from a scrappy, so just smash it out.

It din`t break now dit it.
This means you still can use more force.

Now serious.
First pull the knob off the switch
Now you see the switch, it`s hold in place by two clips.
Push the clips to the middle of the switch and pull at
the same time.
This should do the trick.

hi martin

after reading your post, i got in my gt and pulled the light/knob switch out
it was tight, but easy really, there's about 6+ spade connectors on the back of the switch
so it seems tight until it pops.

i'm glad i did have a look martin

i found i had flat battery, the light in the boot had stopped on.

i have 2 shut the boot glass really hard 2 make it go out

the boot release knob seems tight, maybe some adjustment is needed

keep pulling your knob, and it will pop

cheers
cheers all

get a small screwdiver in there to help it along, and stop being weak!
If you keep pulling your knob, you will eventually get wonderful results!

Be careful with using screwdrivers, it's plastic we're dealing with, not metal ;) You might end up with one of those misformed pieces of plastic.

I wouldn't simply pull it, as the others say. My car has a very tight fit between the frame that goes around the whole dashboard and the turn knob and I don't think my knob would come out without anything breaking. I suggest you remove the little panel with the switches for front+rear foglights and rear demist, loosen the screws holding the frame behind that panel, the screw on the underside of the frame to the left of the steering wheel, the screw on the underside immediately above the steering wheel and perhaps the screw on the underside of the frame to the right of the steering wheel. Then you can pop the knob free of the frame first by flexing the frame away from the dash before you pull the switch straight out. You only need a gap of 1-2 centimeters or so.
