Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr it's cold in December!
Ok guys, maybe it's just me but I have to drive each day 6km to work but unfortunately by the time I arrive the car is just starting to heat up.
My former car a Peugeot 405 only took +-1 km to be fully working
So my question is, does anyone know if it is easy/possible to change the volvo heather with one of a Peugeot??
Thanks,
Peter

That is a strange thing. Both my 440 and 480 heat very well but not after +-1km. It takes 2 or 3 but then it's getting warm

Peter,
you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
When you use your cheese wedge solely as a daily runner on one-way trips of less than 4 miles you're bound to kill you're exhaust and engine in the long run .
Take the bicycle to go to work and treat your cheese wedge on a long drive every once in a while. Much healthier for yourself and your wallet

Think you should put your car infor a winter service . there not cheap . but if your cars that bad in the morning . then it would be well worth itkirsty_2003 wrote:you are not the only one. my car is slow in the morning. everything is stiff. and it runs like shit.
i have to get from 0mph to 60 in small gaps without a car going up my arse.

if you drive short strokes only and are sure of the coolant level, thermostat, and have bleeded the heater matrix (is this possible in a 480 ?) you can think of covering a big part of the outside of the radiator (not the oil cooler and intercooler) with a sheet of cardboard or so. maybe even persplex. keep an eye on the water temperature though as the days get warmer (and the trips ) swedish volvo's and 300's used to have original plastic "sweaters" in front of the grille in wintertime.
the engine is warm faster, then, so save fuel, and its warmer in the car.

whoo it's cold out there
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the information, I will let a friend of a friend take a look at it. he use to be a technican for volvo and he also did the MOT for me last month and it passed without any remarks which is not bad for a 1990 440T.
by the way, in the summer I take the bike sometimes (so I can go directly to the pub!!) or I do this thing called carpool, which means I can sleep for another 10minutes longer in the morning.
