Dints

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Dints

Post by shaughnessy10 » Mon Aug 08, 2005 9:51 pm

Anyone know a good way getting rid of dints? Thankfully not on the 480 (sigh of relief), but on a Pug 205 I'm attempting to make some money on.

You can get dent pullers or kits from places like Frost and Halfords. Isn't there also a mobile thingy called Dent Master or something? I'm sure I've seen vans driving around...

Disclaimer: I've no idea how good any of the above are ;)

Cheers,

I was thinking more along the lines of taking the trim off inside and using a hammer. It could easily end up like Father Ted, when they have the car as a prize and one dint ends up turning the car into tin foil, though.

Depends how bad they are and if u want to spend any money on it or not.

A dint = dent right?!

I remember trying some diy panel beating on a ford fiesta before. Removed the inside trim and used different bits of wood and screwdrivers with fat handles with a t-towel wrapped around them to push the dents out! Kind of works...

Other ways are as iammart says the suction things to pull the dent out. Also you could drill a very small hole in the dent, screw in a self tapper, use this to pull the dent out, then fill and re-touch. Never tried it!

Chips-Away is one of those companies.

Chips Away steer well clear I say. A guy I know does the Peterborough franchise.Their paintwork finishes are both unprofessional and short lasting.I had him do my Ma's pride and joy Mazda.A few months later and the paint was full of defects.

Just my opinion, but save yer money mate!!!! ;)

Definitely not going to anyone to have it, I think I'll go for the budget option. Looks a bit better after some hammer treatment. Looks even better after washing and waxing.
