Window goes up...Window goes down...

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Window goes up...Window goes down...

Have a weird problem with Drivers side Electric Window. It can never decide what speed to move at. Sometimes it's reasonably quick poping up and down, other times it's exceedingly slow, especially it using the full closure system from the door lock. However the passenger side is consistant and seems much faster than my old 480. I didn't think the window would be off it's runner because usually that wouldn't cause it to continually change speed, any ideas?

It will shut slower on full closure as the engine isn't running so the voltage powering the electric windows will be lower. Shouldn't be too much difference. I suggest taking off the door trim and getting some grease on the mechanism.

Having a similar problem. I think its got summit to do with rust pushing on the rubber seal, could be a possability.

Yepp!

Try to oil it with silicon oil, if its to slow there is high pressure in the lift systems. Thats not good, it have a bad habit of braking then.

Take a look at the window, when lifting, if it "turns" in the guiding system (lower on the side towards the rear) Try to lift it rigth, any change?

Thanks to whoever suggested spraying back to black in the mechanisam at the Brimingham meet. Worked a treat on Saturday when I tried it. Drivers side still slower than passenger side. But it's going up and down smoothly now, so I don't mind.

Got to do mine again, need a helping hand on the way up.

You'll need to reapply it every so often.
