falpping plastics trim on door frame and pop up light

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

falpping plastics trim on door frame and pop up light

Post by laosui » Tue Nov 11, 2003 5:48 pm

The black plastics trim on my driver side door frame is loose, its top end flapping in wind when driving on motorway (the bottom end is the triangle lock). I was worrying if it would be torn off by the high speed wind. There are some white marks between the trim and the door frame, which shows efforts have been made to reaper it with glue.

Could anybody tell me how to fix it properly?

The problem with head light is that the drive side one won't pop up fully, I have to turn the headlights off and turn them on again very quickly, in these few seconds, the lazy one will pop up and stay in the right position. I have bought a second hand one, but do I have to change the whole light assembly or just the damper?

Thank you so much for looking and help.

I haven't heard of that piece of trim coming loose before.
But the popups can be a problem. I'd replace the damper first and see if that helps.

Thank you. I am going to change the damper first. :D
