Whistling Moon Roof

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Whistling Moon Roof

Post by James Paul » Wed Oct 29, 2003 2:10 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with whistling moon roof's at high speeds?
Mines has been doing this since I bought it, but I have not looked into how to fix it. Can anyone give me some advice as to how I should go about fixing this?

Thank you

James

It probably has snapped pins connecting cables to mechanism. Take the glass off by screwing the little allen bolts INWARDS. There are loads of posts like this on the old forum.

I get the same at 70 or over, I also have to push the roof down to make it shut properly, no leaks though!!

I will look at doing this soon, but that diagram of the moonroof looks scary!!

Thats what I thought, but it's really not scary at all. Just about 8 or so screws and its done. The problem is obvious once you have the glass out and the covers off the cables and runners. Just a metal covering strip each side. Just do it. It's a real easy job. I put doing mine off for too long and there was no need. Go find one in a scrapyard and experiment. Thats what i did. and get the parts you need...

Mine doesn't even make a sound at 135 now. Which is nice. Apparantely. Allegedly. Supposedly.
