My windows mist up.

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

if you pull the carpet away from the tunnel console on each side, you will see (8 ?) bolt heads that hold the cover (but its on the bottom) on the heater. You can remove this without spilling any coolant. YOu will need to remove the plastic pipes that take air to the rear floor, and a bracket on the passenger side to get it out...... D'oh you have a turbo.... hmm, you may have to move the injection ECU too. Don't know if air con makes this any different.
If it leaks bad you willl see the gooey coolant on the outside of the box before you take the bottom off.
You will be able to see then if it is leaking.

steamy windows

Post by TheXile » Wed Oct 29, 2003 11:00 pm

Hi Martin,
I spoke to my trusty volvo specialist yesterday and mentioned your predicament, and unfortunately he reckons that it is your heater matrix which is leaking.
This alone is not too major a job, but having aircon makes it alot harder.
If I was you I would get your baby to a garage you can trust, close your eyes and hand over the readies. :cryhard: Unless you can do it yourself.

Well that makes sense. my mates got me a smoke machine for my birthday, and it works by heating up a glycol solution, before pumping it through a small hole.

It's just a heater, and a pump... Which is pretty much what a cooling / heating system is...

Very similar stuff to antifreeze. I reckon yo84 has it!

Oh yeah, and when i was looking on how to make me own fog juice for 'Joe' (the smoke machine) i found you could make smoke with antifreeze, but it's toxic, so be careful...

Think I might try to find a local garage, or at last resort down to Volvo for a look at the problem :(
