Paint for 480s

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Any suggestions for the best UK based suppliers for Flame Red paint please (322)?

Make sure you find somewhere that takes the manufacturer code into account (the number after the dash on the paint code). This is because Volvo used 2 different manufacturers for Flame Red and the colour is noticably different. If you just order 322 you might get the wrong one.

Snazzy - 1993 Paris Blue ES red dipstick 2.0i bought 2001
Lethal Lily - 1991 White Turbo
Paris the Unicorn - 1991 Paris Edition
hubby has
Sven - 1994 Racing Green GT
Evil Eva - 1992 Paris Blue Turbo

no previous 480s - can't bear to sell any

Thanks Sylvia - I have noticed that the colours of the 322 "Flame Red" GT's and Celebrations often seems quite a markedly different shade of red compared to the ESs - so your post really helps to explain that. In addition of course it's at least 26 years since most of them were manufactured, so inevitably how well the cars were cared for over that period of time is going to make a big difference to the paintwork quality, as well as the actual colour itself.

Jeff has suggested this company who supply the professionals: https://lkqcoatings.com/ - fortunately they seem to have a branch near me, so that is who I plan to use. Apparently they digitally scan the car's paint and then produce a paint match. All very hi tech!
