Washer jet alternative

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Washer jet alternative

Post by triumphtoledo » Wed Jun 17, 2020 10:05 am

I have found an alternative to the original washer jets that are far stronger than the originals; they look very similar and do not hit the underside of the bonnet:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pcs-Car-Win ... 2749.l2649

You will need to buy the plastic nuts separately.

I fitted them to my 480 after the originals broke. The main issue is where the washer pipe clips on points downwards but there is sufficient room for them to fit. On the driver's side (on UK cars), you have to move the wiper motor/linkage a little out of the way to get your hand in to screw the underside securing nut and fit the tubing. Just be careful you don't crimp the washer tube, when you relocate the wiper motor (2 bolts) to its original position

The jets work well and give the same strong performance as the originals

I've used these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-S ... 2749.l2649

They hit the bottom of the bonnet unless you remove the small washer you can see in the image. Fairly similar to the originals and perform in the same way, i.e. a stream of water rather than a jet that shoots of the top of the car, which I have experienced!
