Possible New Rear Lens Fitting Service

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Possible New Rear Lens Fitting Service

Post by cranna21 » Tue Sep 24, 2019 6:51 am

Hi there folks, In light of the recent good news announced by Geoffrey Hespel regarding the reproduction of rear light lenses: I’ve spoken to Geoffrey and he’s given me permission to offer my services to any members (preferably UK only to keep things simple but will play it by ear come time) who maybe a little less practically inclined in the restoration of their own rear lights.

If you are interested in the lenses that will be available in the next while but are a little less confident or perhaps don’t have the facilities to dissect your own current rear lights, I’m offering the chance for you to send your new lenses to myself which I can affix to one of my spare sets of poor condition lights and send back to you in exchange for a small fee and your current rear lights (assuming that the condition of both my donor lights and your currents are similar).

I’m not offering this service with the intent of making my fortune and retiring but for the most part I do know that there are some owners/enthusiasts who would love an as new set of lights but are a maybe a little apprehensive of committing to the job themselves and of course many garages that owners might turn too could also be apprehensive of involving themselves in such a job.

Once the lenses are released, I can give more details but I thought I’d make it known that I’m willing to help just in case some folk were holding back on putting their name down for a set of lenses based on getting the job done!

Cheers - Fraser
