Removing front wing

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Removing front wing

Post by Martin Mc » Sat May 04, 2019 10:54 pm

Hello folks,

I've trawled the various threads for pictorial insights into getting the front wing off - Glasgow Jim's photobucket 'How To' guide photos are long gone. Suffice it to say I have had a bit of a 'mare trying to get the driver's side wing to budge - all visible bolts removed, most of the wheel arch liner screws and clips out, but it seems like the top of the wing is also held down by the bonnet fastenings. Is that the case, or is it just obvious how it all comes apart once everything is off (inc wheel arch liner)?

Thanks for any tips :)

There is a long bolt fixed under the bonnet hinge so has to come up to free the wing. Access to the nuts underneath.

Couple of bolts down the door edge and sill can be missed. But when the arch liner is off you can see better.

and those around front edge of wing (behind back edge of bumper) are 'tricky' if the bumper is still in place.
