Painting a bumper

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Painting a bumper

Does anyone have experience of repainting a bumper? Bodyshop have said the black insert is similar to a body tape, so if they respray the entire bumper it can't be reproduced as it is fitting over the paint.

The attached picture highlights as its white (Sylvia's recent project).

The green book seems to show it as a fitted part.

Thanks for any advice.

Funnily enough.... I can offer some advice.

So, after they primer they bumper, Mask off and touch the line in with Black paint.

Allow to dry, Mask again, only this time covering it.

Et voila.
