Rear seats removal

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Rear seats removal

Post by frenchfries » Fri Apr 21, 2017 9:31 am

Hi all

Yesterday I could "nearly" remove the rear seat (the bum bit) but they remain attached in 1 corner near the rear central console, Would you happen to know how I can remove them completely? So far I have found 2 pens, 50P and strangely enough a WW2 German insignia (!!!)

While I am at it, how to remove the backrests :)

The seat cushion (bum bit) has a twisty wire on one side - wiggle the cushion around at different angles and it should come out quite easily.

The back rest has a black plastic locking piece inside a metal bracket on the side of the car - you need to use a narrow screwdriver to gently push the top of the upright aside to release it. This is what they look like:

How did you push the bum seats front clip through (that rectangular catch)? :?:

The clips on mine are slightly bent outwards and I feel no human force can flatten them to slide upwards. :badmood:

Push the clips back and upwards using something like a large screwdriver; they are supposed to stick out slightly as you describe - just needs a bit of force...
